Joseph De Piano, MSc, MA, RP

Joseph De Piano is a registered psychotherapist who has been providing counselling and psychotherapy in a variety of settings since 2012. Initially trained in psychodynamic and systemic approaches, he integrates these methods with humanistic-existential principles, adapting his approach to meet each client’s unique needs. He believes that a strong and trusting therapeutic alliance is at the heart of effective therapy.

With extensive experience treating anxiety, depression, and relationship challenges, Joseph has more recently specialized in sex therapy, particularly with sexually and gender-diverse clients (LGBTQ+). He focuses on fostering sexual agency and empowerment, rather than solely addressing sexual dysfunction or pathology.

Joseph holds a Master of Science in Clinical and Counseling Psychology (2012) from Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia and a Master of Arts in Sexology (2024) from the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM). He provides therapy in both English and French.
