Zarin Hakim-Griffith, M.A., RP

Hello there, my name is Zarin (Zuh-reen), and I am a Registered Psychotherapist here to support your mental health and well-being. As a BIPOC and neurodivergent psychotherapist, I value working from a lens of cultural humility in recognizing the unique challenges and experiences you may experience because of your intersectional identities.

My background is in social and community services, having worked in various roles supporting individuals with mental health and addiction challenges. My experience in this field has given me a deep understanding of the complexities of these issues and the impact they can have on you and your families.

I am trained in various evidence-based modalities, including Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). I use an integrative approach to tailor to your unique needs and create a treatment plan that is most effective for you. My area of focus is trauma, mood disorders, cultural identity issues, life stressors, and ADHD.

As a trauma-focused psychotherapist, I place emphasis on the body-mind connection from a polyvagal lens. This approach recognizes the interconnectedness of the mind and body and the ways in which trauma can impact both. My aim is to help you cultivate a deeper understanding of your bodily sensations and responses in order to build resilience and regulate emotions more effectively.

While I am passionate about providing effective treatment, I also believe in promoting wellness and resilience in individuals before issues arise. I will work with you to develop strategies for self-care and stress management, helping you build the skills and resources necessary to maintain you mental health over the long term.

I believe therapy is a collaborative process and I work from a person-centred and strength-based lens. You are the expert and I am here as the guide. Thank you for considering me as your therapist! I look forward to connecting with you.

Zarin is supervised by the clinical director Jason Stotts, M.A., RP, CCC.
